अगर price paid for capital used in the market, जो capital है, जो market में use की जा रहे हैं, उसके बदले में जो हम price दे रहे हैं. अब ये definition अगर देखते हैं, तो उसमें लगया है, interest is a price for the use of the capital in the market. Capitalists, जो capital लगाते हैं, capitalists को pay करते हैं as a reward of service in the capital. So, एक person है, Keynes, उनके दोरा एक definition दे गई है, वो कहते हैं कि interest is a reward for paying parting with liquidity for a specified period. Then there is a term, gross risk. Now, gross risk is sum of five elements. एक है net interest, second is जो risk involved है उसके लिए जो हम reward देते हैं वो, and जो inconvenience involved है उसके लिए जो हम reward देते हैं वो चीज़ इंवोल रहती है, जो pains ले गए हैं उसके लिए भी reward है, and जो management है उसके लिए भी reward. Interest के और gross interest में add up करते हैं, and that makes the gross interest, not gross risk, it is gross interest. Another one is factors जो effect करते हैं rate of interest को. Bank की scheme रहती है कि अगर आपको कोई equitable mortgage या registered mortgage 200% of the loan account दे रहा है या 300% of the loan account दे रहा है, तो हम उसको ROI थोड़ा सा कम charge करते हैं, okay? That is because जो risk factor रहता है उसमें वो involved कम रहता है. And जो second factor रहता है, that is the credit rating of the borrower. Then the third factor is maturity period of loan. Because of time value of money देखते हैं. Sir, J.M. Keynes ने अपनी book में कहा है, that book is The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money. Okay, तो supply of money and demand of money के उपर वो purely depend करता है. So, Sir, Keynes की अगर हमने supply and demand, demand of money की थिरी को समझना है, तो उससे पहले हम तीन उन motives को समझेंगे, जो जुरूरी है हमें समझने के लिए, कि लोग क्यों अपने पास liquid money में पैसा जादा रखना चाहते हैं. Okay, तो basically इसका जो base है ये था, कि Sir, Keynes कहते थे कि उन्होंने assume कि एक simplified economy है, मान ले जिये, ठीक है, तो उसमें दो तरह के, अगर simple portfolio balance है, तो उसमें दो तरह cash रहते हैं persons के पास, एक तो वो पैसा है लोगों के पास, जो लोग अपने पास रखते हैं, in form of cash, एक cash रखते हैं, या फिर current assets की form में रखते हैं, या current account में रखते हैं, बैंक के पास, जहां पर उन्हें कोई भी interest earn नहीं हो रहा है, ठीक है, second चीज उन्होंने क्या बोली, कि जो long term bonds हैं आपके, उसकी form में वो पैसे को क्या करते हैं, save करते हैं, so अगर हम simple economy की बात करें, उन्होंने यह assume किया, कि अगर कोई simple economy है, तो उसमें यह दो चीज़े रहते हैं, या तो लोग cash की form में अपने पैसे रखेंगे, या फिर long term bonds में पैसे को अपने invest करेंगे, so remind करवा देता हूँ, bond basically होते हैं, एक fixed income instrument होते हैं, जो कि एक loan को represent करते हैं, मालिजिए, A को पैसा चाहिए, तो B क्या है, A को पैसा देगा, इसको 1000 रुपीज चाहिए, तो B क्या है, इसको 1000 रुपीज देगा, बदले में, A जो है, B को एक bond दे देगा, तो वो bond different तरह के हो सकते हैं, discounted भी हो सकते हैं, zero open rate भी हो सकते हैं, so those are different type of bonds, बद उनका यहाँ पर कोई लिए नहीं है, simple सी definition को हम याद रखना है, कि जो bond है, वो fixed income instrument है, जो की एक loan को represent करता है, by an investor to a borrower, तो फिर से एक बार यहाँ पर आते हैं, cash की form में रखेंगे, या फिर long term bonds की form में रखेंगे, और उन्होंने यह भी कहा, कि जो ROI है bonds के case में, ROI in case of bonds, and जो उससे पैसा आ रहा है, and जो bond prices हैं, यह दोनों क्या है, inversely related है, ROI and bond prices are inversely related, उन्होंने यह भी statement दी, कि जो rate of interest charge हो रहे है, bonds के case में वो, and जो bond prices हैं, वो क्या है, inversely related है, यहाँ कि जब bond prices ज़्यादा होते हैं, जब bond prices ज़्यादा होते हैं, तो ROI क्या है, वो कम हो जाता है, and vice versa, यह बॉन प्राइजेज अगर कम होते हैं, तो ROI जो है, वो increase हो जाता है, ओके, and basically उन्होंने यह कहा, कि जो demand of money, क्योंकि उनकी थिरी के इसके पर base थी, कि जो rate of interest है, वो monetary phenomenon है, कि वो अपने balance को किन portfolio में रखना जाते हैं, money and bond के बीच में, so उन्होंने दो simple चीज़े बता दी पहले, कि यहाँ तो लोग cash या current account में रखेंगे, जहाँ पर कोई interest नहीं मिलता, no interest is earned, second, कहाँ पर रखेंगे, लोग term bonds में रखेंगे, और साथ में उन्होंने यह भी बताया, कि जो ROE है, rate of interest है bonds के उपर, और जो bond price है, वो inversely related है, और साथ में उन्होंने बताया, कि उसके बाद यह depend करता है, कि लोग कौन से portfolio में पैसा रखेंगे, money and bonds के बीच में, और यह जो चीज़े है, कि लोग कहां पर पैसा रखेंगे, वो depend करती है, दो factors के उपर, तो first factor उन्होंने क्या का, first factor उन्होंने यह बताया, कि अगर level of nominal income है, ध्यान से सुनेंगे, अगर level of nominal income है, level of income, nominal income we will say, अगर level of nominal income है, two asset economy में, यह कौन सी economy है, two asset economy है, तो उसमें अगर level of nominal income जादा है, तो जादा people क्या करेंगे, अपने पास liquidity के form में, cash रखेंगे, क्यों रखेंगे, क्योंकि यह है due to the transactional motive, अब transactional motive क्या होता है, तो basic सा funda है, जहां पर लोगों की income जादा है, उनके खर्चे भी जादा होंगे, अब खर्चे जादा होंगे, बेसिकली यह कहा गया था, कि cash की form में रखेंगे, या long term की bond में रखेंगे, अब long term की bond में रखना, या cash की form में रखना, दो चीज़ों के उपर डिपेंड करता है, पहला factor यह है, कि वो two asset economy, जहां पर जो level of nominal income है, वो जादा है, वहां पर transactional motive रहता है लोगों का, क्योंकि अगर उनके पास liquidity जादा रहेगी, तो वो जो expenses हैं, उनको pay off भी कर पाएंगे, तो वो जादा liquidity को अपने hand में रखेंगे, that is why वो जादा क्या रखेंगे, cash या फिर current account के form में, जादा cash को रखना पसंद करेंगे, second जो factor है, जो effect करता है, demand of money को, that is nominal rate of interest, यानि कि अगर जो rate of interest है, bonds के उपर, वो होगा अगर जादा होगा, तो उस case में क्या है, लोग कम पैसा रखेंगे, कम demand रहेगी, लोगों में पैसे के लिए, for example, एके पास, रुपीज है, टेल लेक, और इसको ROI मिल रहा है, मान लीजिए, 19%, बॉंड के उपर, अभी जिस person के पास जादा पैसा है, वो अब क्या कर सकता है, जादा earn कर सकता है, जादा पैसा कमा सकता है, from the rate of interest, अब यहाँ पर इसको कोई interest नहीं मिल रहा है, लेकिन यहाँ पर इसको कितना मिल रहा है, 19%, यहाँ पर मिल रहा है 0%, तो यह किस की form में रखेगा, बॉंड की form में पैसे को अपने रखेगा, तो यह है, second factor, कि जितना जादा nominal rate of interest होगा, उतना जादा क्या है, लोग अपने पास liquidity को कम रखेंगे, यानि कि उनके पास जो demand of money है, वो कम रहेगे, and the second thing is, अगर A को यह लगता है, कि जो आज का rate of interest है, that is comparatively higher, from the rate of interest, that is expected in the future times, तो उसके case में भी, जो A है, वो जादा पैसा अपना bonds की form में रखेगा, and oppositely, अगर ROI आपका कम है, if ROI is less, अब पहले हमने एक चीज़ पढ़ी थी, कि जो ROI है, and जो bond price है, वो related है, अब ROI less है, तो इसका मतलब क्या है, आपके जो bond prices हैं, वो क्या होंगे, higher होंगे, अब अगर ROI कम है, तो कम persons चाहेंगे, कि वो अपना पैसा bonds में लगाएंगे, क्योंकि अगर वो ऐसा करते हैं, तो उनको ये डर बना रहेगा, कि आने वाले टाइम में, ये ना हो कि bond के prices कम हो जाएं, और उनका जो capital उन्होंने invest करी है, bonds में वो खराब हो, सो कहने की मतलब है कि ROI, simple सा जो concept आपने यहाँ रखना है, अगर ROI जादा है, तो लोग क्या करेंगे, bonds में जादा invest करेंगे, कम liquidity अपने पास रखेंगे, so that is how the two factors affect the two asset economy, कि जो demand of money है, वो किस तरह से रहेगी, अब यह तीन तरह के motive हैं, जो sir Keynes के दौरा explain किये गए थे, first motive हम already कर चुके हैं, उसको analyze कर चुके हैं, that is the transactional motive, transactional motive के case में क्या रहता है, कि जहाँ पर nominal income higher है, वहाँ पर लोगों का motive रहता है, कि वो जादा पैसा अपने पास रखे, ताकि अपने expenses वो meet up कर सके, second motive is precautionary motive, अब हर कोई आज की date में, अगर किसी के पास पैसा आ रहा है, जादा पैसा आ रहा है, यानि कि पहली चीज़ क्या है, कि अगर आपकी low income है, तो आप जो basic needs हैं, उन्हें को fulfill कर पाएंगे, लेकिन अगर आपके पास जोरो से थोड़ा पैसा जादा आ रहा है, तो आप थोड़े पैसे को जमा करते हैं, save करके रखते हैं, ताकि आप precaution ले सके, ताकि अगर future में, contingency आने वाले है, contingency का मतलब क्या है, future में कोई apocalypse आने वाला है, आपको कोई दिक्कत आने लगती है, तो आप उसके लिए पैसा जोड़ करते हैं, चाहे वो आप education के लिए रखने हैं, चाहे आप उसको accident purpose के लिए रखने हैं, या फिर unemployment के purpose के लिए रखने हैं, illness के purpose के लिए रखने हैं, so that is for precautionary, कि precaution के base पर आप क्या कर रहे हैं, पैसे को save कर रहे हैं अपने पास, so that is precautionary motive, and the third one is the speculative motive, अब कई लोग क्या होते हैं, अपने पास liquidity रखना चाहते हैं, ताकि वो speculation करना है, speculation का मतलब क्या है, कि आज rate of interest क्या है, 13% है, और आप इसमें पैसा लगाते हैं, कि कल जो rate of interest है, कम हो जाएगा, या जादा हो जाएगा, तो में को profit होगा है, और रोस होगा है, उसके base पर क्या करते हैं, speculation करते हैं, तो उसके लिए भी कई लोग क्या है, अपने पास liquidity रखते हैं, so basic thing is, कि demand of money है, वो equal किसके है, transactional motive, plus precautionary motive, plus speculative motive, then it is supply of money, supply of money में basically, दोनों चीज़ा अपना होती है, एक तो जो money की form है, या फिर coins की form है, वो भी रहता है, secondly, जो bank credit है, वो भी included है, money plus bank credit, both are included, and in India, particularly, we know that monetary policy, जो है, वो government of India, और RBI के दौरा, fix की जाती है, okay, so जो rate of interest है, that is determined by the point, on which demand and supply curves, are equal, or they intersect each other, so मैं एक demand and, जो है, rate of interest का एक, chart बना रहा हूँ, here it is ROI, and here it is the demand, okay, and यहाँ पर जो demand का curve है, यह डिमांड का curve है, यह डिमांड का curve है, it is like this, and जो supply रहती है, क्योंकि वो क्या रहती है, fixed रहती है, and determined की रहती है, at a particular time, अगर हम उसको दिखते हैं, तो fixed रहती है, तो यह जो point है, this is the equilibrium point, that where the ROI is fixed, जो ROI को fix करता है, यह demand है, यह है money supply, and अगर money supply को हम increase करते हैं, okay, तो ROI क्या होता है, change होता है, this is MS1 we can say, and this is MS2, then it is a liquidity preference curve, liquidity preference curve में basically क्या रहता है, कि जो liquidity की preference होती है, वो change होती है, that is why it is named liquidity preference curve, and वो किस तरह से हो सकती है, and इसको हम chart के तरह ही समझेंगे, graph के तरह समझेंगे, like on this curve, here it is, the center axis we can see, and यहाँ पर है quantity of money, and यहाँ पर है हमारा ROI, okay, and किसी point पर हम देखते हैं, कि जो supply of money है, that is here, that is denoted by MS, अब previously अगर हम demand of money देखते हैं, तो वो इस तरह से आएगे, and we can name it D1, okay, यहाँ फिर इसको liquidity preference को गए हैं, तो हम LP1 कह देगे, okay, यह आपकी demand at any time, अभी क्या होता है, कई बार, मालिजिए A के पास पैसा था, लेकिन A को अंदाजा था, कि आने वाले टाइम में, जो bond के उपर ROI हैं, वो कम होंगे, अभी ROI present में थे 19%, इसने सोचा, इसने यह speculate किया, अंदाजा लगाया, कि आने वाले समय में, जो ROI रहेगा, वो 19% की जगापर 13% हो जाएगा, okay, यहाँ फिर जो bond prices हैं, वो क्या होंगे, increase हो जाएंगे, okay, तो इसने basically, इस speculation के base पर, पैसे की इसको demand नहीं पड़ी, लेकिन, वो ROI जो था, वो 13% से भी कम हो गया, वो रहे गया 7%, अब जब ROI कम हो जाएगा, तो basically, एक bond में investment नहीं करेगा, okay, एक क्या करेगा, अपने पास liquidity को increase करेगा, so there may be a certain requirement, okay, certain requirement of money, जो पूरे की पूरे, जो demand supply curve होता है, उसको ही shift कर देता है, and यहाँ पर जब आपकी, जो money की demand है, वो increase होगी, तो जब आपका curve है, demand curve है, money demand curve है, वो upward क्या होगा, shift हो जाएगा, it will be shifted upwards, and we can say it, LP2, okay, तो अगर हम यहाँ से देखें, इस point से देखें, तो आपका पूरा का पूरा curve shift हो गया, and that shift is called, liquidity preference curve, then it is a modern theory of the interest, basically इसमें क्या था, कि जो दो बहुती बड़े economist हैं, Hicks and Hanson theory, उन्होंने basically क्या किया, कि जो classical हमारी theory थी, money of, money की demand and supply को लेकर, and जो Keynes के द्वारा दिगई थी theory, उन दोनों का जो intersection point था, उसके उपर derivative निकाला, and उसके base पर LM curve and LS curve इन्होंने create किया, okay, तो जो modern theory of interest है, वो दिगई थी Hicks and Hanson के द्वारा, and इसको हम Hicks and Hanson theory भी कहते हैं, basically क्या है, कि जो Keynes की theory थी, उसके intersection and जो classical theory थी, दोनों को हमने क्या किया, derivative किया दोनों का, and उससे हमारे पास दो करवाए, Keynes की theory से हमारे पास आया, LM curve, and जो classical theory थी, उससे हमारे पास आया, IS curve, तो सबसे पहले हम बात करेंगे, classical theory के curve के बारे में, that is IS curve, तो इसमें basically क्या रहता है, हम दो तरह का plot करेंगे, एक करेंगे, interest versus savings or investments, तो उसमें basically क्या रहेगा, अगर हम उसका plot बनाते हैं, कि यहाँ पर है हमारा, rate of interest, और यहाँ पर है हमारी, savings or investments, तो यहाँ पर zero है, इसमें क्या रहता है, basically जो ROI होता है, उसकी downward reducing slope रहती है, इस तरह से slope रहती है, कहने का मतलब क्या है, कि जिस तरह से आपकी savings का amount increase होता रहता है, उस तरह से जो आपकी ROI है, वो कम होता रहता है, यहाँ अगर आपकी savings इस point पर पहले clash कर रही थी, उसके बाद यहाँ पर clash कर रही थी, तो basically अगर आप देखेंगे, तो rate of interest जो हो रहा है, वो basically decrease हो रहा है, with increase in the savings or investments, and अगर इसी curve को हम income graph के उपर show करेंगे, तो यहाँ पर हमारा क्या रहेगा, हमारा ROI रहेगा इस side पर, और यहाँ पर हमारे आजाएगी income, तो हम यहाँ पर IS curve बनाएंगे, तो यह हमारा IS curve इस रह से रहेगा, so basically जो हमारा IS curve है, वो इस चीज़ को depict करता है, कि जिस रह से जो rate of interest है, वो with the level of income के साथ intention में आते हैं, इंटेंड होते हैं, तो उसमें अगर हमारी savings बढ़ती हैं, तो जो ROI है, वो हमारा कम होता रहता है, and further जो steepness है, slope की, इस slope की जो steepness है, वो depend करती है, कि क्या elasticity है, investment demands की, यहाँ कि कितनी investment होने बे, ROI में कितना फर्ग पढ़ रहा है, to the percentage change in the investment, to the percentage change in the rate of interest, okay, that is elasticity of this slope, जो इसकी slope को हमें देता है, so IS curve means, investment saving schedule, investment saving schedule, okay, तो जो IS curve है, वो हमारा investment saving schedule के साथ से चलता है, and जो LM curve होता है, वो हमारा liquidity preference, and money access equilibrium के बीच में चलता है, जो IS curve है, उसका जो हमारा basic जो focus है, वो combination, जो different combination है, ROA के, and income and saving, जो हमारे relationships हैं, उनके बीच में चलता है, and इसकी जो slope होती है, वो downward होती है, and जैसे जैसे saving increase होती है, तो आपका ROA जो increase होता है, means क्या है, ROA का and saving and investments है, income होसका inverse relationship है, and इसके case में, जो दूसरा हमारा curve है, that is LM curve, and जो LM curve बनाया है, modern theory of interest में, वो basically बनता है, जो liquidity preference curve हमने बनाया था, तो उससे infer किया गया है, and मैं एक पर फिर से repeat करता हूँ, कि जो liquidity preference curve था, that was something like this, कि अगर आपका पहले यह liquidity है, और यह किस के बीच में track किया जाता था, और quantity money के बीच में, यानि कि अगर आपके बास quantity money increase होती है, और लोगों के जो preference है, वो change होते हैं, यानि कि जो liquidity system में वो change होती है, तो उसके कारण क्या रहता है, कि जो curve है, वो upward shift हो जाता है, यानि कि यह पुराना curve है, तो नया curve उपर इसके shift हो जाएगा, और similarly अगर कोई और है, तो वो इस रह से उपर उपर shift होता रहेगा, और जो supply of money है, वो same ही रहती है at a particular time, तो वो इस तरह से रहेगी, तो उसको derivatives को use करके, हमने जो हमारे, जो दो economist हैं, that is Hicks and Hanson, उन्होंने alum curve को बनाया, and alum curve में basically उन्होंने क्या किया, यह हमारा alum curve है, and इसमें हम एक side पर रख रहे हैं income को, and दूसरी side पर हमने रखा है ROI को, rate of interest को, and यह हमारा किस रफ increase हो रहा है, यह हमारा upward इसकी slope रहती है, this is alum, okay, so basically alum curve यह imply करता है, कि जो rate of interest है, वो directly vary करता है किसके साथ, income के साथ, so इन चीज़े को ध्यान में रखना, यह जाना बहुत ज़ाधा ज़रूरी है, कि कौन से वो factors हैं, जो alum curve की slope को determine करते हैं, पहली जो चीज़ है, important चीज़ है, that is responsiveness, कि जो market है, उसमें क्या responsiveness है money को लेके, यह तो नहीं है कि एक दम से वहाँ पर preference change हुई, यह नहीं है कि preference of money क्या है, कि अगर आपके पास change हुई, थोड़ा सा भी change हुआ market में, तो लोग यह तो नहीं है, एक दम से ज़ाधा liquidity माँगने लगे हैं, तो उसके उपर depend करता है, alum curve की पहली slope, जो पहला factor है, वो तो हमारा responsiveness है, यानि कि money preference है, जो second factor है, that is speculativeness, यानि कि basically लोग, कितना rate of interest है, उसको speculate करके, कितना पैसा लेना चाहते हैं, वो भी responsiveness है, liquidity preference है, लेकिन वो है speculative motive के लिए, तो basically लोग speculate कर रहे हैं, कि rate of interest कितना increase होगा, और उसके बेस पर लोग क्या कर रहे हैं, responsive हैं, कि उन्हें और पैसा चाहिए, और liquidity चाहिए, okay, so this is all about the theories of interest.
