Banking में Time Value of Money: CAIIB ABM Guide
📈 Time Value of Money: Banking
Time value of money (TVM) Interest rate (discount rate), time period,
Formulas
इन दोनों numbers के बीच का अंतर उस rate और tenor पर pure time value of money है।

| Feature | Ordinary Annuity | Annuity Due |
|---|---|---|
| सामान्य bank उदाहरण | Loan EMIs, term deposit interest | Lease rentals, advance insurance premium |
CAIIB question "payment at the beginning of the year" का ज़िक्र करे, ordinary-annuity answer को (1 + r) से multiply करके annuity-due value निकालें — calculation को शुरू से दोबारा शुरू करने की ज़रूरत नहीं।
NPV किसी project के हर expected future cash inflow और outflow को bank की required rate of return (discount rate, जो अक्सर cost of capital या hurdle rate होती है) का उपयोग करके आज की value में discount करता है, फिर उन्हें initial outlay के against net करता है। Working capital term loans, infrastructure financing और equipment leasing proposals — इन सबकी screening branch या zonal credit committee के sign off से पहले इसी तरह होती है।

Compounding Frequency
Time value of money

🧠 Practice MCQs: Time Value of Money
Q1. 10% p.a. discount rate (a) ₹8,000 (b) ₹8,264 (c) ₹9,000 (d) ₹9,500
Q2. वह annuity जिसमें cash flows हर period की शुरुआत में होते हैं, उसे कहते हैं: (a) Perpetuity (b) Ordinary annuity (c) Annuity due (d) Deferred annuity
Answer: (c) — Positive NPV का मतलब है कि discounted inflows required rate of return पर initial outlay से अधिक हैं, इसलिए project value-accretive है।

CAIIB ABM के लिए time value of money क्यों महत्वपूर्ण है?
Compounding frequency effective interest rate
Time value of money
